Last Friday, a 23-year-old Greenwich man was struck by a vehicle while crossing West Putnam Avenue at Western Junior Highway at about 12:15 a.m. The vehicle left the scene of the accident without offering aid to the victim. A woman was headed southbound on Route 7 in Wilton CT, when she was rear ended by the car behind her. After stopping in front of Wilton High School, she heard squealing and felt something hit her bumper. Madison Police officials reported that at two car accident occurred at Polson Middle School Monday prior to the start of school. The initial report from the Madison Police indicates that no school buses were involved. Jury selection is to begin, this week in Hartford Superior Court, for the trial of a former police officer accused of crashing into high school sophomore Henry Dang who was killed while riding his bicycle in Windsor Locks. Michael Koistinen of Suffield a,  former police officer, is facing charges of first-degree manslaughter, misconduct with a motor vehicle, and tampering with evidence. The case stems from an October30, 2010, accident that killed the 15-year-old Dang. Former police officer Koistinen, 26, faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted of all three charges.
