Investigators looking into the deadly train crash which occurred this weekend on the Metro North train headed from Poughkeepsie, NY to Grand Central Terminal believe the engineer at the controls of the derailed train dozed off for a few fateful moments and woke up too late to stop the speeding train from leaving the tracks.  It has been reported that engineer William Rockefeller all but admitted he was falling asleep as the train came speeding into the curved section of track north of  the Spuyten Duyvil station in statements made shortly after four people were killed and ore than 60 others were injured, some seriously, in the train crash.

NBC Connecticut reported that a male 18-year-old from West Haven, CT has died after losing control of his motor vehicle and crashing into a pole in Orange, Connecticut.

The Connecticut Post reported that a Connecticut school bus driver in Manchester has been charged with driving under the influence after she was involved in an accident.  Melissa Forrest , 36, of Andover failed a field sobriety test after the bus she was driving rear ended a wheelchair accessible van which was stopped at a red light on Main Street. The accident occurred on September 17, 2013 and no one was reported injured in either vehicle.

The Connecticut Post reports that a Plainfield CT pedestrian accident is being investigate by police. They are continuing to investigate a pedestrian accident which left a pedestrian with serious injuries. According to police, 61-year-old Catherine Kerr was crossing the street near All Hollows church when she was hit by a pickup truck driven by 69-year-old James Gudeahn of Moosup, CT. Police say that the pedestrian was leaving church and was walking back to her car at the time she was struck by the pickup truck.
