This past Saturday at approximately 9:30 a.m two vehicles collided on Ethan Allen Highway near Picketts Ridge.

The two vehicles were driving northbound when the first vehicle, driven by Douglas Whitman, 21 of North Bennington, Vermont, went to turn right onto Pickett’s Ridge. The driver of the second vehicle, Wilber Marin, 28, of Austin Street, Danbury, thought Whitman was taking a left onto Haviland and attempted to pass Whitman on the right, crashing into the vehicle and causing “extensive” damage.

Due to the nature and placement of the impact, Whitman’s vehicle had significant damage to the passenger side and had to be towed from the scene. Also due to the placement of the impact a passenger from Whitman’s car was injured and taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment.
