Preston, CT Accident Involving Taxi Cab Sends Four People to the Hospital

Late Tuesday, around 9:45 p.m, a Dodge Neon traveling southbound on Route 12 near the Route 2A intersection collided with a Rose City taxicab turning onto Route 12N. One of the drivers disobeyed the traffic signal, state police claim, but it’s still unclear which one.

26-year-old Norwich resident Austin Shelby, the driver of the Neon, was taken to the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, along with his three passengers. Shelby and one of his passengers were not wearing a seatbelts at the time of the accident.

44-year-old Norwich resident Jonathan Yindra, the driver of the taxi cab, was not hospitalized.
