Karen’s Story

Karen was out walking her dog one day in the local park. Another unleashed dog came running around the path and went to jump on Karen’s leashed dog, thereby knocking her to the ground. As a result of the fall, Karen sustained a fractured knee and had to undergo surgery.

Although this was not a dog bite case, we argued that she was injured as a result of being knocked to the ground by a dog and therefore the owner of the dog was strictly liable for any injuries and damages sustained by Karen. We did not have to show that the dog owner was negligent or careless but only that our client was injured by his dog.

At the conclusion of Karen’s medical care and treatment, we were able to obtain a six-figure recovery for her. Karen was quite happy with the outcome.
